I would have thought that for simply sizing a pellet - oversize but otherwise undamaged - it could be just pushed straight through the die into the palm of your hand using the pusher, although the tip of it doesn't look very pellet skirt friendly?
Blocking the die off with a disc, and using the ball, might be useful for restoring a pellet with a crushed skirt - compare the instructions for a Sizerpac -but this probably wouldn't allow you to get any rotation as well. This is just a guess though.

The stock is from one of the very earliest Webley Mk.3's made in 1947/8, when birch was indeed used, before the transition to walnut after about 600 or 700 rifles had been made.
Thanks and now I know that Birch was used !.
Still the stock is very very short - total length is just 22" .
