    What red dot

    Hi guys
    i was wondering what type of scope or red dot sight people on this forum have fitted to their co2 pistols,in particular the beretta 92fs ,as i looking to get one for this pistol, it has to be able to fit the 11mm adaptor rail,
    i want to use the scope or red dot to improve my accuracy in the back garden.

    cheers
    Sanj

    i use the holographic red dot from our sponsors, and it is very good.

    cant say it has improved my accuracy though.

    i did have a little play and fit a pistol scope onto one of my co2 guns, and not only does it look ridiculous, but it doesn't seem to be worth it at all.

    Not a red dot but I'm in the process of fitting Millett target sights to my 92fs, nice adjustable iron sights with a good sight picture take a lot of beating.
    I like the hologhraphic sights for spinner shooting and hope to try one for Pistol HFT,
    Regards,
    Nick

    When using the holographic red dot you mentioned,does the pellet always hit the exact point of dot on target after zeroing the sight.

    it should do if you rule out any inaccuracy of the gun and more so bad technique on shooters behalf.

    i shot 119/120 on the 2nd stage of this months police pistol with the red dot on there, which is higher than ive done with open sights by about 4-5 points.
    make of it what you will

    That's what I thought, so I paid a bit extra, got them from jsr and they were still faulty and had to go back, all I achieved was to fork out for postage to return an item I couldn't use.

    I bought my replacement from my local gunshop (Kibworth) at least I can take it back if it fails, without costing me for the privilege. I dread to think how I would have faired if I'd got it from China though.

    I have seen one unit bought from the evil bay where the dovetail wasn't exactly central and the owner, AirArms David had to make some minor adjustments.

    I suppose mail order is always a bit of a lottery, whether it be from a UK shop or "somewhere else".

    Repost from UBC forum regarding one of the Chinese versions-
    ================================================
    This shows my Chinese red dot shimmed to fit my new (to me) Atomic, I used the steel spring strip out of an old windscreen wiper rubber.

    Two sections the right length were cut with tinsnips, 2 minutes with a Dremmel put the angle top & bottom on one strip, the other was left.

    This is what it looks like assembled -

    http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...obOnAtomic.jpg

    It's rock solid, perfectly centered and took 20 minutes from unpacking to shooting,
    =================================================

    The mount fits an HW45's over width rail where you'd have to machine an 11mm mount to get it on an HW
    I've since worked out that welding rod/round wire can be used to shim the mount to an 11mm rail so machining isn't necessary
