    .50 cal smoothbore advice

    Morning all
    I have just got a armisport .50 cal musket and need some loading advice/ideas. The bore comes out at .497, balls are .458 and patches are .15 and .10. Any advice on loads etc would be good. Has anybody any ball moulds for sale? if you have can you please contact.

    Google JJ Tanner & give him a ring. He will give you advice & make a mold for about £25 (and send it to you within 3 days). His wife Chris makes patches at £25 per thousand.
    Using a rest, his mold and patches, my Brown Bess hit a charging soldier target 6/10 at 100 meters. I saturate the patches with 30/70 Beeswax/lard mixture.
