    refurbishing my childhood air rifle

    Hello all,

Not sure the collectables section is the right place but this sure is an old gun.

I have just got my first ever air rifle out that i had as a kid.
I think its an elgamo cadet but not sure. it only says elgamo on it. This was a well used gun when i got it probably 24 years ago.

It is a right mess at the moment, spring is broken and the piston washer has started to decompose, rusty. I think some one painted it black before i got it and this is now flaking off. nothing a bit of TLC wont sort out though.

Was wondering where spare parts would be available from as I would like to look into getting it working again.

Any advice would be most helpful.

    Pete

try chambers gunspares, they carry quite an extensive range for the older rifle.

    sorry for the delay,

there no hole in the compression tube.

I am sure its a gamo expo. (non repeater)

Total cost to refurb is £50 plus whatever i decide to do with the bluing, or should i say rusting .

Just deciding if i want to part with the cash right now. probably leave it until later in the year.

    Pete
