Whats with the woodworm on the grip, and the frame?

I reckon those marks are some youngsters attempts to 'decorate' it, they were on when i acquired it

Hi Merlin- i don't think they're illegal to own (at least i hope not ), i've had this for over twenty years and as stated, back in the 70's they were used at school to start races on sports days

    Old Starting Pistol

I have an old Starting Pistol almost identical does this need to be handed in to the Police. The sad thing is it was given to me by a Shooting Pal who died 2 months later ,this would really hurt!

Oy you- you're over the line!!!!

    Annnnnnnd Go!!!!!

It's quite a purdy li'l pistola but it doesn't work any more (it did when i last saw it )
the trigger spring appears to have broken

I have no idea of the maker...

Hmm, that's very nice but not as nice as mine.

Surprisingly (not), mine doesn't work either.

But as I got it for nowt thrown in with this, the last of my non practical and short lived collection of 'collectibles', then I can't complain.

I'm 99% certain that you don't have to hand it in- ie, i'm almost certain that you can legally own it but it wouldn't be a good idea to go waving it about in the street

I have one of those missing the cylinder and cylinder pin, the trigger return spring is broken but the rest of the action works perfectly, including the mainspring and the spring on the “hand” that rotates the cylinder, usually the first bit to fail.
The right-hand wood grip is ok, but the left one is in four bits, it will glue together.

These are usually very poor quality and made to a price!
As long as it was made as a starting pistol you are ok with it.
