pistol shooting at the phoenix meet

i went to the phoenix meet on the weekend to troop the colors for the ubc,(had my hoodie and cap on) i heard one or two people commenting on it so you never know we might have a couple of new members

shot my first proper ipas comp, and it was great fun.
but what was more fun was the practical pistol must be because im a big kid. but running around shooting and all that is great fun.

think i did ok in the practical apart from on the last and longest stage, i worked out where all my mag changes needed to be, and had them so i could be reloading while i was moving between targets, but then when it came to shoot it, i managed to only half pull the trigger at some point which indexed the mag so i was then one shot off the hole course which meant all my reloads where as i was shooting the targets oh well it was still great fun.

also put a couple of faces to names off here which was good
although it seemed that there was more there for the guys who shoot the guns that make big bangs, it was well worth going to as an air pistol shooter, and i hope to see a few more of you at the next one

Hi Sol, it was good to meet you at the shoot on Saturday.

Having done your first comp now every other one will be a walk-in-the-park. Because of other commitments I could only stay an hour and had no time to shoot.

I trust you had a good look around the trade stands, although there was not too much to interest CO2 shooters.

    Good luck, Phil

i had a very limited look and dragged myself away before i could find anything to buy.

spent most of my time shooting to make the most of the trip.

Where was the practical pistol being shot?

I was at Bisley for the whole meeting and didn't see that! The IPAS looked a bit of fun though.

most where airsoft, which i know nothing about so didn't recognise any models.
i was shooting in the co2 standard class using a colt gold cup. the others in that class seemed to be using the smiths.

There were all sorts of pistols being used. Some CO2, most Airsoft and as far as they go, it seems the preferred model is the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1
see HERE for a list of Airsoft Pistols
