£68 and counting for vintage pellet tin!!!!!

    Anyone notice this on E8ay?

    Item Number 150452319822

Just over an hour to go so I'll be watching with interest.

Never heard of these pellets before but must be a pretty rare tin.

They used to do them in cardboard packets as well, and the last pair of tatty , empty ones that were on there a couple of years ago cleared the £160 mark. They normally sell to pellet/airgun related stuff collectors, but there is a strong market in "ethnic" advertising in all forms ie; fruit crate labels, calendars, point of sale material etc., and some of these people have very deep pockets.....I would guess most English sales are to airgunners, as most adverts that appeal to collectors are classed as black Americana, and the Americans are big buyers...... and if you are the type of person that thinks gollywogs are offensive, then you would be astonished at the stuff that was in common circulation as late as the 1950's/60's

Those are special Oil Company pellets, you fire them in the air and they land where there is a deposit of 'black gold'. A good investment, dontcha know nuffink?
