HELP Gamo Compact not working

Hi all

I need some help with my Gamo Compact. I'm new to this pistol shooting and I purchased a second hand Compact ( I love it ). I was shooting it this morning at our club and it just stoped working. When I open it and close it again there is no tension, so I think it is no longer holding air. If this is the case then I asume a seal has gone but which one is it most likely to be and how hard are they to change???. If I hold my finger over the valve outlet there is the same kind of tension as normal when trying to close the gun, when I remove my finger there is no tension again - Could it be a seal in the valve box or is it something far more serious...

Sorry if this all sound a little confusing but any help you can offer would be a great.

It sounds like the valve isn't seating properly when cocked, check that the valve is resetting on cocking,

When you cock it (although it doesn't hold air) does the trigger act & feel as if it's working normally?
Do you hear the click of the valve opening mechanism?

No, the trigger feels the same as if it had just fired, no click or trigger re set when it has been cocked..

You probably need to get some oil on the valve stem and excercise the valve a bit - then when you store it you need to cock it enough to set the trigger & seat the valve before putting it away.

Remove the two screws from the LH grip and lift it off, remove the palm shelf if needed & remove the bottom screw in the RH grip & lift that off to reveal the mechanism.
Memory failure, both grips off with 2 LH screws ;-)

Once you have the grips off - the mechanism is under a clear plastic cover, with the cover upwards hold the trigger cocking rod in place on the underside and cock it, you'll see what's happening.
The big kinda L shaped thing should pivot around & latch in place on the sear which runs down from the back of the trigger.

Found the problem, couldn't miss it as it fell of into my hand..

When I took off the grips a small piece of metal fell into my hand and on closer inspection it is the small bar that runs from the valve to the trigger mechanism that has snapped at the bottom. Looked on T W Chambers site and it is part No SR170.
