All the nitro cylinder conversions that I have seen, use shotgun primers for the ignition.
I have see conversions by Alan westlake, Bob Dunkley, Ian Wiggins, and Richard Kershaw, so theres a few people you could ask for help.
Someone recently mentioned a Nitro Conversion for a BP Pistol. Does anyone know if I can get a cylinder for my Ruger Old Army that will take smokeless powder? I am not looking for anything other than to eliminate the smoke that other club members find so annoying. I am happy to continue with the stock press on firing caps.

Mine has a Westlake cylinder for Nitro as well as the original BP cylinder
It is much cleaner & less grief loading BUT I still lile shooting BP
What about using one of the BP subs rather than going for a cylinder ?

I currently only use 777 but it still generates a lot of smoke. One of our guys has a lung problem so he can't shoot when I shoot.

Hi Roy, i see you have the original b/p cylinder and a nitro one for your revolver. Did you have to get an extra slot on your ticket for the nitro one?
Iv got a Ruger old army in stainless with fixed sights and a 51/2" barrel. Iv got a mold for the .457" bullet and often wondered what it would be like with nitro. Tim
Yes, you will need a extra slot for the nitro cylinder.
