It looks very much like a HW77 or 97 stock to me ---- I could be wrong though.

measure from the rear of the inletting to the front stock bolts, for a 77 or 97 it should be about 13 inches.

have measured it from the back of the airchamber to the stock screws and sure enough it's 13inches, also it does look a little slim to be for a break barrel....

    any other thoughts anyone????

have been mooching around the for sale section looking for hw77 stock ad's that have got pics in them and have found some with exactly the same inletting, i am quite happy it's for a hw77 now. the question is do i try and find a gun to fill it or just sell it to someone who has a hw77 project?

    any idea;s of values anyone?

i thought it was one of the stocks from these people http://www.customstock.co.uk/Products.htm the cs500 one, can't see how the cheek peice would be diffrent on a custom stock. it's definately not the standard hw stock.

    40...

...for what does look like a CS500 ? 97/77 or otherwise? Tad on the low side I'd say 60-70 depending on condition IMHO naturally...

The new CS500 are a fair bit different to yours guy, here's one on fleabay

FWIW, i think that sbd is closer to the value, the one onfleabay is going for more but it's the very latest incarnation of the CS500..

You could ask for more then drop a little each day 'til someone goes for it

Oops, i forgot that you can't link to the bay of Evil, the item# is 260625624751

    Hi Guy

At your 13" measurement the stock is definitely for a MK2 onwards 77 (MK1 had a different front trigger guard hole) or any 97.

I'd happily give £60 for such a stock, though obviously that's not an offer as I don't want Gareth to smack my bum and make me sit on the naughty step for a week.

    Thank God for that.

I was right, it was the stock for a MK2 HW77.

And my MK2 77k action looks very nice sat in it.

And now I've managed to work out photobucket.

Here it is after ironing, sanding, staining and oiling (Danish oil 12 coats)

Not bad for a 25 year old gun.
