Hi all
What is the difference between the standard S400 cylinder and the one I see quoted for export?
Also, are the cylinders removable and interchangeable ?
Was thinking of having a 2nd for 2 day weekend hunting trips rather than lugging a pump or bottle with me.
Thanks for any replies![]()
Hi, you can change cylinders but not in the sense of a full one for an empty one,so would still need a pump or bottle as you have GOT to release All the air from your cylinder to change it .
Cheers,
Steve.

There are three standard tube lengths, 300mm which is the carbine, 400mm which is the classic, and 525mm which is the export or FAC one. You can't buy a standard 400 sub 12 fpe with the export tube as far as I know.
However they can be fitted as an aftermarket item and it is one of the best things you can do to a standard 400, in my view. It is something for a professional to do though. You need to have a barrel extension turned up and you will need the export model figure of eight clamp with a hole big enough to carry the FAC's shrouded barrel.
You can't buy the tube except face to face.
Ok, many thanks for the replies. I have the full lenghth std 400 so would the export tube fit without any barrel extension work? Im presuming it would still fall short of the tip of the silencer.
The rifle is std uk spec, not fac, but would love the bigger shot capacity by getting this done. The barrel is stad also, ie the thin one so would i still have problem re the barrel band or would this just slide on?
Best way to answer you is to show you mine..............

This gun has an extra long stock so it hides the true length of the tube. The barrel is from a classic and is still too short to reach the end of the tube. I have in the past used a 300 with one of these thin barrels free floated but I think it's safer to support or at least protect the front end. I had a brass piece turned up that slides over the barrel and fixes with two grub screws, the brass is the same diameter as the export shrouded barrel so it fits neatly into the figure of eight clamp from a 400E.
Are gunnerjon and madnurse the same person??![]()

There was a custome S400 made in the past with the export barrel called the GML

I quite like the idea of the barrels fitting flush with the cylinder, so much so I copied Snocks idea on my old Falcon. Old school way of getting more shots without a reg. Ok the gun wont have a proper silencer but for ft shooting who cares if its a little noisy![]()
Also there is no chance of knocking barrel out of zero.
