A very hot and sticky day at Kibby today, so thanks to everyone that put on their sun block and headed out onto what we thought would be a reasonably easy Marksman course How wrong we were So congrats to Danny, Bruce and the Robot Roger for showing us all how to shoot. Hmmmm... I still think its actually Marshall Patent Creation No.3.
A marvel of pitch pine, a bit of railway sleeper some bacofoil and an inordinate number of shiny toffee wrappers
Cracking course today that yet again had us looking quizically at both target and then scope. And then target again...
Convinced myself that the rat on the pole behind the bank was the wildcard target and hence really far away...
...only to find the next one appeared to be further still...
....and the rabbit two targets down further yet.
Ooops. Or to use the technical term... *plink* *plink* *-silence-*
I can't remember shooting in quite such hot humid conditions before, but I think we all survived despite a bit of wilting. My feet felt like flippers as we staggered back to the car. Nice to see the thunderbugs are thriving. I'm still finding the little blighters all over me and the rifle. We even had a grasshopper join us for the way home. I tried to persuade the little chap to vacate the windowsill before we left but he was determined to cling to the headboard before bouncing unannounced towards dads hat as we joined the A14.
Hmmm... wonder if he's any good at rangefinding?

Jesting apart,
A very testing course,
Nice one course setters, I was the one leaving puddles behind me, allbeit perspiration rather than incontinence ?
I was fascinated that Anne could shoot so well whilst covered in thunder bugs
As they are so tiny where do they get the Divers lead boots that they wear??
Phil Russel (silent but mushroomy) was in fine fettle (Sarky Git!) and caught me some crackers! Ouch!
My Thanks to Mick Snr, The Tom, and Will Gabbot for putting up with me amidst all that heat
