Haenel 302

I have a Haenel 302 with a hole at the back where the safety catch went,did the 302 have a safety or could this bit have come from a later 303 . Are these safety catches still available. What would the best spring be to replace the original that is now rather weak. The only other problem is the slide is missing from the rear sight. Any input on this gun and where bits may be available would be of interest. Thanks. Mike

Hi Mike....The 302 did have the pop-out safety like the 303, but I have seen quite a few of these over the years where either the connecting slide/spring has been removed (leaving the safety as a manually operated unit, as opposed to automatic) , or as on yours, it has been removed completely. I remember the first time I shot one (a friends) many years ago, and we both agreed it was a pain as you kept forgetting about it

Remember, this was a good few years ago when safety catches on air rifles were quite uncommon, so they took a bit of getting used to if you normally shot British guns.
