    One for the BSA experts

Sorting out my 'project' pile I came across a break barrel BSA air rifle. It looks like a standard Mercury ie no stock checkering and one piece removable/screw in trigger unit but has a scope rail on top of the cylinder. This looks like a factory fitted part as the cylinder has been machined with a series of slots for the rail to fit into. There is no indication on the cylinder as to what actual model this BSA is. Can any member please assist as I need a new mainspring and piston head to get it working again?

I'll try and get a few pics up in the next few days.

Hmmmm. Sounds like the spec for a factory-fitted Maxi-Grip rail maybe? These were fitted to the later models, inc. the RB-2 Airsporter, the RB-2 Stutzen, the Superstar, and Goldstar. They are pigs to remove apparently ??? ... Hope this helps. Atb: G.
