Mates, you've been so nice in your remembering Jan that I'd like to do something for the UBC / ask you to do something for us once again. I'd like to institute a Jan McArthur Memorial Award, some plaque or such that I will pay for, to be given out at all future meets.

To the top woman shooter that day, maybe?

    Jim
Jim That is a wonderful Idea.

I like the idea of top Lady shooter, there is at least two ladies coming to the meet so far. Hopefully we can advertise it now so more women can/would like to enter.

As for the award how about the same style that we did for Russ with the snooker competition. >>Award<<

    Regards
    Paddy.

Hmm....we don't want to make eligibility TOO restrictive. I'd say, either the top woman shooter, or the top Smith shooter: but I prefer top woman.

    STOP that!

Excellent idea, and I think it should go to the top woman.

That is a brilliant idea, we need something to encourage a few more ladies along.
Although the thought of Paul in chintz and Sol in a frock will give me nightmares for a month (but it would be interesting to see how they get on shooting in stilettos)

Yes, that's a true story, Jim! She did it with an arrow, fired from a longbow. It was at an event sponsored by the SCA - Society for Creative Anachronism, a medieval and Renaissance reenactment group: which is where we met, in March 2000.

After our for-real wedding in January 2001, we had a 1580's SCA wedding in March of that year. I grew a beard for that occasion - purely as a prop for the wedding - and just never got around to shaving it off.

Anyway...the rules of the archery event required each archer to shoot one arrow, in turn, at a piece of sausage mounted on a target. Everyone missed, then Jan nailed the sausage, and won the event.

I would have loved to come but you`ve done it again

I will be in Las Vegas again for two weeks, there`s a Sig 220 down the range with my name on it, along with a few Glocks and Smith & Wessons. I think the M4 will get a look in this time as well

Will think of you as I`m throwing big lumps of lead down range
