    Pistol Shooting Novice

Right guys iv been seriously thinking about starting pistol target shooting. I have in the past fired my uncles muzzle loading pistol and his long barrelled .44 magnum at Bisley. First of all id need somewhere to shoot it, could i knock something up on my permission or do i need to join a pistol club (Cleveland), and what sort of gun could i get, also could someone briefly explain the law surrounding this subject, am i bighting off more than i can chew.

    Cheers

When you apply for permission to purchase on your FAC, you need to give a good reason for wanting it. The only legitimate use would be target shooting, and as such you could only shoot them at a Home office approved club range, doing so on your permission would be an offence AFAIK.
