Not really, there isn't anything; in english at any rate; that is the equivalent of "Ways of the Rifle" or "Air Rifle Shooting". All the following are out of print, so look for them on Abebooks or Amazon. "Successful Pistol Shooting" by Paul & Frank Leatherdale is alright or you could try "Pistol Shooting as a Sport" by Hans Standl. "Competitive Shooting" by A.A. Yur'Yev contains much good information but is somewhat dated and requires some sifting to get the good stuff out of it. It is also expensive, secondhand copies going for £45.00 upwards.

    Thanks for the suggestions Rutty.

On another forum one member suggested the following:

With Winning in Mind: The Mental Management System: An Olympic Champion's Success System
    by Lanny R Bassham

    Competitive pistol shooting
    by Laslo C. Antal

Target Gun" Book of U.I.T. Pistol Shooting
    by Laslo Antal

Do you think these are any good?

If you are looking for books on mental training then Mental Training in Shooting is probably better than undiluted Bassham.

Laslo Antal's books are OK as well, but as I said in the previous post, none of them really stand comparison with the current rifle shooting manuals.

Quite possibly your best course of action would be to find a coach to help you with the technical skills and then use "Mental Training" to help you turn these into winning performance.

    This may help.

I have a copy myself and it covers the basics you need to know.

target gun's book of uit pistol shooting by the late laslo antal is basically a condensed version of his other book "competitive pistol shooting".
the former is available on e-b## and the latter turns up now and then.
they are both excellent and give a good introduction to the sport.
there is no dedicated book to 10m pistol shooting, this discipline is covered by maybe a chapter in any of the books.
here is my list of pistol shooting books, all in english.

competitive pistol shooting by laslo antal
the target gun book of uit pistol shooting by l.antal
the target gun book of pistol coaching by john chandler
successful pistol shooting by frank and paul leatherdale
    target pistol shooting by k.b.hinchcliffe
    pistol shooting by hans standl
    target pistol shooting by p.c.freeman
    modern pistol shooting by p.c.freeman
pistol marksmanship guide by u.s.a marksmanship training unit

the n.s.r.a run courses as well.

and then there are all the mental training books!!!:
    steyr lp5,steyr lp10,hw77k,bsa buccaneer .177,bsa scorpion .177,original 6g
    happy with my lot!

Books help, but you can't beat the help of a GOOD coach particularly when you are starting. Books, like many coaches teach the opinion or fixation of the author or coach, which may be the current flavour but might not necessarily suit or work for every one. Fortunately most agree on the basic principles. Join a club, the NSRA club finder on their site will point you in the right direction.
    Good shooting
