For Sale: Smith & Wesson Model 3 .44 Russian Revolver

Thinning down my personal collection a bit to concentrate on Mausers so first up...

Smith and Wesson Model No 3 Third Model revolver in .44 S&W Russian calibre. This is the 3rd model variant with a 6.5" barrel and is a single action revolver.

Condition wise I would rate it as fair but not bad considering this gun is over 130 years old. The action works, the cylinder rotates, the hammer holds full cock and drops when the trigger is pulled. It breaks open correctly and you can remove the cylinder. The bore (last picture) is surprisingly good! It has a non original mainspring retaining bolt and one of the sideplate screws is a replacement and the lock up is not very strong. Please keep this in mind, this revolver is sold as seen.

This piece has not been deactivated in any way and is classed as an obsolete calibre weapon under Section 58(2) of the Firearms Act. It does not require a licence/FAC if kept as a curio but can never be fired, even with blanks.
