Who knows anything about this gun?

Someone is offering this gun in Germany. It's advertised as a BSA Silver Star. Never heard about it and I can't find anything about it. There is nothing on the BSA homepage. Looks a bit like a Gamo. Who can help me?

Looks like a Superstar. A google search of "BSA Silverstar" turns up a load of Spanish sites, so maybe it was marketed as the Silverstar in Spain / Europe.

Very good rifles, not Air Arms TX200 standard in my opinion, but still very good indeed.

Edit: I seem to remember it being "Airgun of the year" a couple of times in the early 1990s.

Thanks a lot! What gun would you rate higher. The BSA Superstar or the Weihrauch HW 97?

The Superstar is a great gun, but if it was made for the German market it could be limited to 6fpe.
However, just because it's for sale there doesn't mean it was made for that market.
    One to watch though.

Thats true, the muzzle, trigger gurard / safety catch and recoil pad are different to the Superstar.

The Silverstar was a joint BSA/Gamo product built after the Gamo takeover of BSA a few years ago. I don't know if was made in Birmingham or Spain but it shares components from the Superstar but also those from Gamo. The newer Gamo CFX is a very similar gun.

I'd go for a HW97. Better trigger. My Goldstar (same as Superstar but with 10-shot magazine) trigger is serviceable, but not brilliant. Slightly nicer to shoot, too, IMHO.
