It bends a bit but it will stop it. Haven't tried .177 but you can go thicker

Only a suggestion, but you could protect your new display.

If solder braid works they must be blooming big holes

I had thought about placing a piece of 10mm polycarbonate (my brother used to have tons of the stuff!!) over the top of my display but i thought to myself, i'll do it tomorrow- too late

    Red face

Sorry for dragging up an old thread but can anyone remember the RS Components product code for the replacement screens for the Chrony Chronoscopes?

I've been searching for ages and can't find the thread, The link in this thread is now dead so it would appear the thread with the product code has gone

I've been on the RS site but there's quite a few different LCD screens, Not sure how to ID the correct one!!

    Cheers, John

When I shot my Chrony ( shot 4, first time out of the box ) the pellet actually smashed up a lot of internal gubbins behind the screen as well.

bit like the old yellow pages test ?

    Cracked screen ~ 6 FP
Though the screen ~ 9 FP
Through the screen and smashes the electronics PCB behind ~ 12 FP

Yellow pages is cheaper though, don't need this modern electrickery
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

thanks for making me look good.
the amount of times i have loaded the superstar, rolled the roll breach. put the pellet in, cocked the lever and caught sight of a rabbit and took a shot. with the roll breach open.
then the time i switched sights. went from 40 object to 50. nearly took me ear off when the pellet bounced off the concrete pillar i was hiding behind.
    and your clumsy.
the only thing i can find wrong is the nut on the steering wheel.

I bought a Chrony F1 a couple of weeks ago. I was very aware how low the barrel was in relation to my sight picture, it worried me, so I removed the scope (with mounts attached and sighted along the barrel. No problems at all. OK, so I had to re-zero, no hardship, quite fun. Chrono intact to play another day!
