I think it is later than 1924/5 - (are you quoting the patent engravings?).

It has the sliding barrel catch so the earliest it can be is late 1920's. Mine is no. 25290 and I believe is late 1920's early 1930's.
I think that yours is a later one.

In your photo the barrel is level with the cylinder, surly it should overlap it by an inch or so????

Actually I am afraid that is not true. They ALL had longer barrels. The very last pre-war Juniors had shorter barrels.

Your pistol is a later one - 47k serial number and I think that somewhere along the line someone has fitted a Junior/Mk1 barrel to it.

I am afraid that reduces the value considerably.

Re your Pistol I would date this a great deal latter than 1924-1925, manufacture was terminated in 1935 when the serial numbers where approaching 50000... So your Pistol would date from just before this, does the end of pistol towards the foresight screw off if it. This will make the Pistol a Mark 1 Sixth Series....I have a pistol near your serial number...

Interesting, I have a customised box bought from that place that I thought was for a pre war Junior but when it arrived it is for a MKI with a short barrel sooooo, either it was common to fit the post war(?) shorter barrel or maybe there were a few straight grip MKIs about with the short barrel(?????).

Box is available at £25 unless I can find a MKI to fit that has an original short barrel.

hi, all i have re done this pistol with the right barrel and a new spring it just shoots great. this is mk1 sixth series 1934-35. thanks for all the info on this
