hw77 help please

hi all,dusted off the family hw77 which has not seen any serious use for many years however when we got it in the early 90s it was well secondhand then,serial no is 1022652 can anyone date it please,also is the stock beech?,it looks as if it is but it does have some figure..cheers..greasemonkey

1985/86 .Stock normally beech, thinner and nicer than new ones.
25mm piston.

thanks ginger and mick, much appreciated,did they change the diameter of the air chamber then. i thought i read somewhere it was 26mm?. think i will give the old girl a bit of tlc now i have had my interest re kindled.cheers..greasemonkey

Hi greasemonkey

The change from 25mm piston to 26mm piston is said to have taken place at serial number 1446049.

So your gun should have the 25mm piston fitted.

That's very interesting Mick, i have a HW77 that is numbered one million, three hundred and seventy five (100375), was told it was '83

The one Millionth Weihrauch was built in 1983 and was a HW35.
So One million three hundred and seventy five is spot on for the dates I found.
Have you accidentally missed a zero out of the serial number given ?

Here's the reply i got from Weihrauch when i enquired about three rifles..

"thank you very much for your e-mail of 25.07.2010.

Please find the following informations:

HW 77 # 1000375 - delivered in 1983
HW 35 # 1551576 - delivered in 2001
HW 95 # 1576934 - deliverd in 2002

EDIT- I also have this HW35 that is pre safety, the serial is 423452, confirmed by HW as being delivered in 1972, i forgot to ask about my HW80
