    Webley service mk2 valuation please?

Hi chaps I need to thin down some of my air guns. I’m not a collector so I’m not familiar with prices.
This is a service mark 2 as per pics
The marks on the stock, I don’t think the top one is a crack??
The under one I think is but the stock is not loose.
I have shown the back of the trigger guard as well, should the serial number be there?
There is a number on the barrel which is 4867 would this help date the rifle?

    Loads and fires fine.

    Any help appreciated
    Sniper

    Hi Sniper,

Pics now work...i'd say £250/300'ish in that condition & Cal assuming everthing is there & works...there should be a serial No.behind the trigger guard...guess yours missed the process?Hope this helps.....

Hi Sniper. I just last week sold one not too disimilar, with two barrels (.22 & .175) for £450 plus post, so with just the one barrel, see yours being valued at around the £250/£275 mark (plus post), too. Hope this helps, should do, as is based on an actual sale less than seven days old . Atb: G.

1920s or 1930s … Probably 1930s, and late 1930s at that. Post the serial number and one of the Service Oracles on here will be able to be far more precise . Atb: G.

    ... Yes.

Not really, although may be able to date the detachable barrel by it, but that may not relate to the actual action (mine didn’t), so without the number on the back of the trigger guard, I think you are stumped and it is going to be down to the calculated best guess scenario, as will (hopefully) be proffered by the aforementioned oracles ???

Ha ha. That’s made me laugh, and you are probably right, as only last night I was talking to someone about my old Lambretta Series II TV 175 ... I meant to say (in case those reading this thread hadn't guessed) .177 . Ha ha. Atb: G.

Ahem ... Scooter Boy if you please, and now, twenty years on, an ardent bike owner (can't say biker coz my head is still shaved Skinhead-style ) ... Right then, time to give Sniper his thread back and talk Services ... Send a p-m to Binners.

Never seen one without a serial number behind the trigger, but there again I am fairly new to this game.
