    BSA Cadet Major

I found my ninth air rifle on an internet classified advert. It was in Cape Town, fortunately a town that my sister lives in. The picture in the advert was small and not very clear, so i asked my sister to cock and fire the rifle, and if she thought it was ok buy it for me and post it. She went to the seller, looked at it, fired a few pellets and bought it. i received it this week and i am very impressed with it. These are really lovely rifles. The cocking of the action is very smooth and handling is a pleasure. At this stage accuracy and repeatability are not good, but I am of the opinion that will improve after a cleaning and lube job, and with a new breech seal.
One unusual feature that I have not seen on any other pictures of these Cadet Majors is the three dark wood inserts in the butt. They are well fitted, but somehow they just do not seem to be original.
