    An `unopened' tin of Black Boy went for £72.00 Plus £2.00 postage, on the same site back in August.

    How can you claim that a tin of that age is unopened?

    Here are some earlier ones from a different maker.....as you can see they are secured with a gum strip....early British tins, say up to to 1940's, used the same system, so Wasp, Pylarms etc. with the paper stick on labels used to be taped shut....Webley used a red seal tape very similar to elastoplast

    So they do turn up undisturbed now and again!

    Pylarm (early) tin showing sealing tape (but has been opened);

    Sealed 70+ year old Wasps;

    They normally separate at the lid/base join due to rust when in this condition...see second tin down....so I used the contents to fill an empty, but nicer similar tin I already had.....

    Hi Sam,

    Greetings, you're right. Funnily enough, I'd not seem him for ages and bumped into him by chance at the Midland game fair and somehow the subject of Black Boy pellet tins and boxes cropped up !

    They fetched just £48.50 plus postage. Much lower than I've seen similar sell for previously on that same site.
    I collect vintage Japanese air rifles & vintage Japanese pellets
    Information sought about antique firearms with Japanese markings, do you have one ?
