I saw this on the website of a shop not a million miles away and some hunch told me to go and have a look. From their photo it was clearly an early one but on inspection it proved to be really early, 23** in fact, with the early "double pull" trigger. Mindful of Hiller`s warnings about this trigger, I gingerly tried cocking and releasing with a good hold on the underlever. No problems, smooth trigger action and reasonable compression at the loading tap. Clearly a number of external screws "new not Weaman Street", and there was a chance that the corresponding threads on the action would be damaged. Anyway I took the risk and bought it. At home I robbed the appropriate bits off another and it all fitted. A phone call to Knibbs and all the bits proved available. A good result and the sort of luck we all deserve occasionally!
