    Pistol already loaded?

    Hi all,

I've just purchased a Morini 162EI, so am expecting an immediate jump from the 550s to 580s in my scores

I've always used an LP50, so it was easy to pop out the magazine and walk away from the firing point (to go to the loo or whatever). But with the Morini (and any other single shot), if I've loaded the gun, is there anyway to unload except firing it?

You can raise the cocking lever, but that still leaves a pellet up the spout.

    Thoughts?

Don't put a pellet up the spout?? You can't unload them, your right.

If you have to cock it, to show it's clear for example then just shoot the air out when you close it.

If you need to go to the loo in a comp you just leave the pistol open or closed after the last shot and leave it on the bench pointing down range.

From the muzzle simply insert a sub 4mm pastic knitting needle thats longer than the purpose made rod supplied with the Walther LP300. Morini barrel is longer. MUST be plastic not glassfibre!

theres only one safe option-- discharge the weapon safely down range.

    officially you should
    1 bench the weapon
    2 raise your arm
    3 wait for range officer
    4 act on his advise

definately do not leave the pistol unattended with a pellet in the barrell.
weapons must always be proven safe before leaving unattended.

    hope this helps.

Thanks all. I'll start to carry a rod to clear the barrel if necesary. Makes perfect sense.

Instead of a long rod. Just use a long cable tie to clear it!!

Its super flexible so you can clear from the BREACH end first!!

Dont know where you shoot McTrucky - but my club is in Surbiton. And we have a really nice 10 metre air range. Welcome to come and check us out.

    Hi Adam,

    Thanks for that -good idea.

I see you are from Banstead, I shoot Black Powder and free pistol at Gally Hill. Very occasionally shoot the AP there as well. Also a member at Bookham and shoot AP and occasional LWSR there. Shoot monthly at the BPC but most of my AP is shot in the garden - I eventually built a set of turning targets so I can shoot Rapid at 10M, which is ace.

Would love to come and see Surbiton sometime - I used to live there (20 years ago...). When do you shoot? Do you have guest nights?

    Cheers

Yes, I have used some heavy duty strimmer cord to clear Co2 rifles at the club when they become empty and the last shot fails to clear the barrel.
