Help needed with BSA Meteor mk3

Realised it was probably a bit better in this section.

    Hi all,

I have a BSA meteor mk3 with a problem that is driving me nuts. When I am cocking it, it is double clicking. My mk1 and 2 don't do it and have a different trigger setup. I have had it to bits and am still none the wiser. Any help to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

    Cheers
    Ben

The mk3/4/5 meteors can be a bit "clacky" on cocking. I would just check that you have not got the trigger/sear spring trapped or the trigger adjuster screw trapping it. Sometimes the spring gets trapped against the middle pin. Take the trigger apart and re assemble it. Sometimes the triggers are adjusted up for a really hard trigger pull and the sear can wear a hole in the piston.

Thanks for the help I have tried what you said but failed miserably. Ended up using a mk5 trigger(plastic one) Gutted but does the job.
