Original 45 Front and Rear Sights

    Hi
Well I managed to get hold of a nice Original 45 in .20 calibre eventually (I've been after one for a while)
It is all complete and with full length barrel with grooves for the foresight but missing this and the rear sight so.....

Does any one have a set of sights for an Original 45? I've a few sets of sights off BSAs and Webleys and some other spares so could do a swap !

    Thanks

    Hi loach

If your 45 and 50 are the smae as mint then the front sights are different, the 50 is similar to the HW front sights but the 45 has a sort of tube a bit like the webley vulcan

The front sight was hammered off my Original mod45 and damaged the last 30mm of the barrel, i'm hesitant to chop and recrown the barrel due to these being choked.
I've thought about turning down the end of the barrel to take an an adapter for a 1/2" UNF moderator , a bit like the old air arms sidelevers were

EDIT- forgot that the vulcan was turned down- your 45 won't be..

IIRC the Original 50TO1 had a wrap round front sight unit that looks very similar to that fitted to the model 45.
Im sure there will be someone along soon with the answer.

    Thanks for the info Gents.

John, yes my Model 50 foresight is the same as yours in the pic and when I eventually got it off- I don't know who tightened the screw but they must have used a 3 foot screwdriver and a cheater bar- the grooves on the barrel appear to be the same size as on my 45.

The annoying thing is come to think about it I think I sold a 45 foresight on here some months back. That'll teach me to sell my spares !

    Interesting.

The picture from John Walters, The Airgun Book, 2nd edition shows a different type. A wrap round type similar to the type on my mod 45.
