That's a Daisy no.40 military, according to Henry Krank, who have one for sale at the moment.
Quite valuable if their pricing means anything.
Another one from the cupboard
Bought with a BSA L many moons ago as a job lot, don't know an awful lot about it, sling appears original, cocks and fires (weakly) although never put anything through it. Appears to be a strange BB? size.

That's a Daisy Model 40 "Military Model"
1916 to 1932 manufacture.
Axccording to Hiller it's quite rare
I reckon you've done rather well getting that as part of a deal
Opportunity is missed by most people, because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
Beaten to it by Garvin as usual

Hmmmm
Been sitting at back of cupboard fo best part of 30 yrs, paid no mind to it.
At a local auction went after a tidy Model L and it came with it aswell as a Diana Mod 2 pop out. Mr Kranks' price as usual is prob a bit loaded but nethertheless a pleasant surprise.
I think the gun originally came with a bayonet, however these usually got lost over time
Even without the bayonet yours has to be well worth cleaning uop and restoring sensitively.
Must be worth 150 - 200 quid as it stands - in your cupboard with the brooms
