no you carnt & nobody would sell you one.
I have applied for a FAC and have been told that I should get it by the end of February all being well, the question I need an answer to is this:
What is the law on purchasing an FAC rifle before being issued the certificate?
My understanding of the law is limited so that’s why I am asking.
Any advice on this subject would be appreciated.
I am sure that I read a post on here saying that you could obtain a FAC rifle before the issue of the cert. But I may be wrong.

As long as it stays with the RFD until he marks it on the certificate, there should not be a problem.
Thanks for the advice, I didn't think you could but I had to ask.
Cheers
I've bought a few whilst waiting for a variation...
Give the dealer a small non returnable deposit and they should be happy to keep something for you. I doubt they would take the full amount anyway.
Private sales are more difficult. Again, a small non returnable deposit for the trouble of holding something for you until you get your ticket might be a good idea if you see something you just have to have!
