In my defence spiders can have the run of my house and if I can I will remove them with a glass and postcard.
However if they are on view in my daughters bedroom and I cant guarantee live removal without escape they are shot.
I suppose I could consider a verbal warning and posters but doubt they would work.
Incidentally when I put a serious post on here seeking technical info I get a couple of responses. Post about shooting spiders- nearly second page.

My wife hates spiders but I find them quite attractive little fellows, unlike that nasty snake that put me in the hospital. I always try to capture and relocate those big hairy jobs that scoot up the wall from behind the TV and cause mayhem in the Nemesis household. Our walls are dry-lined, so I wouldn't want to try terminating arachnids with airweaponry. Also, splattering them (e.g. with elastic bands - very effective on flies) plays havoc with the decorations.

Too modest Nick- and you are always one of the first to help if you can.

Spiders don't bother me or the missus, so I leave them alone. They catch flies, so they're providing a service as far as I'm concerned.
