ASI Commando Mk2
Can anybody remember this wonderful gun.
I had mine stolen from a shed in my late teens.
It was originally advertised in the JLS arms catologue of 1978/79....as a gun for ground game and pests.
A wonderful tool with low profile, fast sledge adjust rearsight and barleycorn foresight. It was as sleek as an Airsporter MK1 and fitted with an unusual Oak stock with multi colour grain.
It developed around 525 fps in .22 and was featured in an early Airgun World article shooting Magpies.
The cylinder and barrel were similar in size to its cousing the ASI Sniper but it was twice the gun.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.
Not to be confused with the later crap Commando folding model.

I Had an ASI commando in the late 60s around 1968ish and kept it for a few years.
It was far more powerful than the Meteors of the time and the build quality was superb.
I have spent ages looking for another as I part exchanged it for a garden gun which I still have.
You are right that the wood on them was fantastic with a nice deep grain, Wish I could get another one

Commando
Thanks for the feedback lads.
There is something of a mystique surrounding this gun and many who have never heard about it at all.
There is a picture of it on the web should anyone want to see it.
