    HW45, Any good?

Hi, excuse my ignorance but I am just getting into air guns again after a break of about 25 years so I'm a bit behind the times. Got the bug again and have bought myself a AA s410 but am now after a decent pistol, was going to buy a SH Webley Tempest or Hurricane but have noticed the HW45, whats it like?

    Hw 45

    Hello Mate,

Have had a HW 45 in both .22 and .177 flavours and liked them both,

They are not a cheap item so it may be best to try one of someone else's before buying, not everyone gets on with spring guns,

A club is your best bet, most are very friendly and will help you out,

It all hinges on what and where you shoot really, there are many pistols out there,

I live in Leicester and shoot at a Pistol Club and a Local Rifle range,

Look at where people are located and ask about their Clubs if they are near you,

    Hope this helps,

    Bernard.

    Hw45

Probably the best springer sporting pistol and twice as good as a Tempest.

Same here !... although mine hasn't gone far so I can always have a go when I am back home .

IMHO, an excellent pistol although I can't compare with the Webley's etc as the only other "springer" I've ever fired has been a Gat! The recoil does take some getting used to - but that's all part of the fun!

I used to be in favour of the fibre-optic open sights, but am now not so sure and if I still had mine I would see about getting them replaced with more traditional iron sights.

PS. A stock was mentioned... now that would be nice!

    Hi there, new member here,
i have been into guns of all sorts from a very young age,
the hw 45 is one of the best pistols avaliable but difficult to shoot due to recoil and weight,
Here is a great page about the HW45:
