    Theoben Help?

I am having cocking problems with my Theoben. Does anyone know if there is anywhere in Oxfordshire that could help?

It started out as a Rapid 7 in .22 which has been turned into an Elan in .20.
Really nice rifle which has not been a spot of bother before.

It started out that if I let go off the cocking handle it would cook off.
Then the handle would go to the rear but it would not hold.

Hmm in that case sounds like the trigger sear that holds the hammer in place is damaged?

    Or a sear spring?

What trigger do you have in it?

Theres about 10 different triggers bud .

can you post a pic up?

Also who converted it? as im pretty sure the elan uses a different hammer, maybe this is the problem?

Assuming you have the series 4 trigger-posting the serial number of your rifle should confirm this one way or the other-then you need to move the 'Main Sear Adjustment Screw'. Go to the Theoben website and download the diagram of the series 4 trigger and take it from there.

Id hazzard a guess at your wee cocking dog going for a walkies...
Remove the side cover plate and loading bolt.. twist the probe anticlockwise and you should see the cocking dog. Id check this for damage before fiddling with any trigger adjustments.. It will only take 2 minutes.
