Long range targets

What do you guys/girls use,

Last week I put an old toaster out at 110yrds hoping to hear it strike the side as i don't have a spotting scope but it didn't, needless to say there was alot of walking involved to see where my my shots had landed.

What targets are best? paper, metal etc and is a spotting scope necessary if i want to be accurate?

Any suggestions?

Shoot NC.

Different sizes.

Easy to see the shot holes through your scope at well over 100 yards.

Don't tell the other half but i've nicked 2 old pans from the back of the cupboard, i'll try them tomorrow - she'll never notice, i hope?

JSB pellet tins taped up with bodge tape and half filled with dirt hung on two strings one at 11 one at 1 oclock!
bounce like hell when hit and last ages!

The pan's didn't go too bad, they are nice and loud even at 100yrds but seeing where you have hit is tricky, i managed to get 2 within an inch but the third always about 2 inches away

And the wife hasn't seemed to mind too much either? she must think her xmas pressy is really good?

The old toaster sounds a great idea

Me I use clays. Bright and easy to see, break apart when hit and break down into the ground so I don't have to pick all the little pieces.

[100m airgun]

At our 100m matches we use 300 gram/m2 paper. In the middle of our target is a black ring. It makes it easier to aim with the cross of the reticles in white in te middle. This target is developed by 100m matchshooters.
