Power is only a hunting issue, and no one in their right mind hunts with the "fun" pistols in this class. And any minimum amount of power and velocity will knock over a tin can or spin a target if you simply hit the target.

I have to disagree with this. Long range target shooting, long range plinking and pistol FT/HFT all are benefited by higher power. Muzzle flip (in PCPs or CO2) is not an accuracy issue as the pellet has left the barrel when the flip happens. The anticipation of flip can affect your shot, but good follow through should prevent this.
