An absolutely superb day, and a very impressive turn out given the boggy conditions. Our boots were the size of the honey monsters feet by the time we'd trudged to the plinking range so you can imagine how we looked at the end of the course. Still, gave Dad a chance to try the new jet power washer on the car. It got home looking like a monster sized chocolate bar. He wanted to use it on the rangemat, but I feared a 112hp jet of water could transform it into a magic carpet and impede Marshalls airspace. I politely declined the offer to power blast my gortex trews. They already look like a bizarre set of camo lederhosen and I don't want to risk them shrinking any further.
A very enjoyable course and a most unexpected score.- I got to actually use the strings and everything! Got half way around and then realised I was using the wrong rangecard...still, if it ain't broke...

Nicki, did Steve B mention he has a loupe to sell?

Only at Jeff, Alan, only at Jeff. And I used nice short words so he could understand them in case the sign language was missed.

    * peg 17, penguin-thingy bird up pole. Last shot of the course. Sussed the range, so was just deciding on the windage. Had opted for just to the lhs edge. Was settling in to take the shot when Mr Westley et ensemble turn up. You know you shouldn't listen, but somehow you do... "Nah! No wind out there now, look at the string, dead flat that"
In moment of missguided trust re-allign sights to dead on kill. Watch incredulously as pellet pings off the rhs of the plate. Stand up, smile, and politely remark to Mr Westley that the wind appears to have picked up again. Repeat conversation in course latin whilst jumping up and down and flailing arms in case he missed it the first time around.*
