    Question What Air Pistol?

I did a bit of a search around for this sort of thread before posting this but did not find an answer so here goes...

I am looking for a pistol that will cover the following (if thats possible):

    - multi shot
    - realistic looks
    - good power level AND good accuracy
    - does not need massive investment or many hours tweaking to achieve the power
    - pellet firing not bb
    - a new or current pistol

I have been looking at the Rohm Twinmaster Trainer but I have no experience with it and I do prefer more 'realistic' looking pistols which is why I have 3 umarex pistols but I do want a proper pistol so to speak.

Many thanks for your help and I look forward to replies.

Gamo p-23, It looks real, it can d0 12 shots in about 3 seconds, and can do about 80 shots in a co2 cartridge, its great fun to shoot, and quite accurate I.M.O

Depends upon your definition of "Good Power", if you mean adequate for reasonably accurate 10m shooting then looking under the CO2 results here

    http://www.ubccompetition.btck.co.uk...tsDec11th-19th

If you mean legal limit power then at the moment you aren't going to get a multi-shot that's a reproduction of a full bore gun,

Thanks for the replies - to answer some questions:

    - budget good but not 4 figures
    - power, as good 3ft/lb plus ideally, 4 would be better
    - range, excellent at 10 yrds but ideally able to take on further

Nobody used the Rohm Twinmaster Trainer at all?

    Yep,
Don't buy the tactical grip - its the most uncomfortable thing ever invented.
Very heavy and not particularly well balanced.
Over-priced for the trigger on offer.
    Not overly accurate or powerful.
Customer service was appalling (but that was couple of years ago)
Personally, I'd take a S&W 6" in preference over one of these anytime....

If you want looks and power get a HW45 and stick a 1911 houge combat grip on just for fun. I dont recon you can get this power from a co2 and there is no replica style pcp. Watch out for the 45 silver star, great looks and same shape grip as the HW75 but not possible to put 1911 colt grips on as frame is cut down. Good luck and choose soon before someone talks you out of it, well thats my motto.

They are great single shot pistols, I have one of each, lovely bits of engineering, great for plinking, a bit of paper punching and fun for HFT.
IPAS? Practical Pistol? Police Pistol? No Good!

Everyone needs at least two pistols, single shot & multi but should really get 4,
    SSP eg. the Gamo Compact,
    PCA eg. AimX Atomic,
    Springer eg. HW45 and
    CO2 multi eg Umarex S&W 6"
Then you have some points of reference to work from and just need to decide whether to part with one you already have when you see another one you want,
    Simples!

Very much concur with Nick on this especially if you intend to shoot the UBC competitions as 1 pistol won't do all things.

    I have the following:
    Spring: Feinwerkbau 80.
    PCP: Steyr LP5.
    SSP/pump up: Crosman 1377 modified.
    co2: Crosman 2240 modified.
    co2 multi: S&W 586 6''.

The Smith is purely for multi shot work as I don't think its not quite accurate enough for paper punching hence the 2240 mod.

For me I would just buy the one, and a good one like the Lp50 and use a single shot mag for slow fire events - it comes down to familiarity and learning.

I was always told when I got into shooting 'one rifle, one scope' and it bore true - I always did best when I stuck with one rifle, and it goes the same for pistol shooting. I agree if you are just plinking, it is nice to have a variety, but different characteristics of different pistols will mean you have to readjust continually. It takes time to shoot one pistol really well, something I have learned a lot about over the past three years.

Oh, and did you know that people are making 6 shot mags for the Lp50 ;-)
