Kit arrived today and unpacked, the torch it self is very classy well made item it is made from high quality materials and military spec coatings, It feels light and balanced in the hand.

Also in the kit is a very strong robust holster high grade sewing and a nice soft touch material lining.
A tactical ring black plastic this goes on the rear end of the torch to aid one hand operation grip with better switch control and anti roll purposes.
A belt clip snap on type made of titanium coated stainless steel
Spare O rings, rubber tail switch cover and a lanyard.
A Green and Red double coated mineral glass filters slip on rubber mounted.
    A 25mm scope mount.
    A usb-mini usb charging lead

All fitted into a plastic carry case, foam lined with sections pre cut.

18 months warranty UK based and limited lifetime warranty more info on this later

Im not going to bore you with long sections on the torch as thats already been done to a much higher level than i can do (candlepower forums), What i will do for those that want more info is in this link:

    First impressions.

Scope mount, it is permanent type mount and only comes in 25mm scope thickness, this is ok on a standard air rifle but for me its not good...my cabinets bulging as it is so to try and get this in scope mounted its a no no.. i also want to use it on different rifles so to change over every time is just not practical...
This is my only gripe about whats in the kit, you could always sell it and put the money towards a decent quick fit scope mount

This torch has its own built in regulated charging port usb-mini usb so you can charge it via usb solar panels, car chargers, pcs or buy a plug in usb charger.
You can carry spare batteries if required its just a case of unscrewing the end cap to change the battery they are not permanently fixed.

The tail switch has a button built in so you can use the pressure pad or just switch it on full time via the button a really nice feature and very convenient and very well made.
One thing with the tail switch is that it will cycle through modes if you don't have the torch in turbo mode, so this works properly in only on turbo mode (full Power).

The modes on the torch are good you have full time turbo then you can select the next setting with memory, full half low sos and strobe are all available as second mode options you can also cycle through with half clicks and it will memorise your last setting (not with tail switch fitted) lets say you have a called a fox in as it approaches a simple silent twist and you can lower the power to say half ... a neat little touch

The coated glass filters are very clear on looking at the red it looks deep but when on the torch it appears more orange/amber than red, the green has a nice colour when fitted.

The white light produces very good natural colours it does not add any hue.

Spill? every conventional reflector torch will have some spill this is no exception it has a medium amount of spill more on this when i get out lamping the torch later.

Lumens with a 18650 battery run times
860 in turbo mode 1.45 hours
320 in high mode 3.5 hours
130 in half mode 8.30 hours
40 in low mode 22 hours

Impressive specs and extremely high grade engineering and electronics are involved with this torch..so far so good

Next step field test (will add on as i go along)

    Field test...

Ok we have a torch with the name of Night Blade... this name implies it will cut through the darkness with no effort at all...

How very disappointing it cuts like a blunt axe...there is way to much spillage, it takes away the hot spot and overpowers the distance you can see...that is to say its way to bright up close to see through it at any decent long range, the reflector is very high quality the light is very bright but it simply is not a long distance thrower.

This happens even with the filters fitted...to much overspill spoils this torch it needs a deeper longer narrower reflector of the same quality to make it work as a hunting torch.

Is there a place for this torch well yes there is...this torch is very high quality it has some great features where then would it fit well?....the place for this torch in its current form is aboard a 12ftlb air rifle..this is Daystate quality engineering its classy its technical its air rifle bling it will reach out to 12ftlb air rifle distances no problem but for any form of FAC rifle its simply not up to the mark.

I have brought both expensive and exotic torches just like the Laserware ND 100 in the past and the build quality of this torch is outstanding compared to all others i have owned, so has this torch disappointed me.. a little yes... I won't be using this has a Hunting torch but its build and quality are top notch

If i just owned a top of the range 12ftlb air rifle this kit would proudly adorn on top...it would be in my luggage when going away on trips... it would be on my belt when going out at night with the dog...its simply a great torch.

It does come with 18 months warranty and a limited lifetime guarantee If you buy it from the UK importer or his agents it can be dealt with in the UK.... if you buy it off the bay imported or sent from China then you deal direct with China.
for the few quid you save is it worth it...in my opinion NO always buy from agent or direct from Nitecore uk

If you are interested in this torch please pm me for further details warranty included

The next torch from NItecore i will be reviewing for you guys is the very high spec SRT7 this is a dimmable multi function torch with four colours built in and 7 modes.. very trick
