I dry in the field with a slightly oily rag, then at home use Napier gun cleaner followed by a wipe down with a dry oily rag.
Hi chaps...Just wondered if anyone knows which is right.
Theoben say no to Silicon impregnated cloths for wiping down their guns and suggest oil.
Daystate on the other hand promote the use of a Silicon cloth. I've just bought a Mk3 and wondered, should I follow Daystates advice?
Boring question I know but I just wanted to give the Mk3 a good start in life!!

Gun oiled rag every time
Thanks chaps..thats what I've always done before....just Daystate got me all confused. Thought there might be something unusual about the Mk3 finish.
I use a TufCloth on my MK3. Seems fine.
Mike.
Browning Legia spray. Even wipe the stock over with it. Luvverly stuff.
IIRC Daystate say the use of oil with rust inhibitors ( sounds like all oils to me ) is not recommended on the their X and X2 rifles because it can spoil their satin finished cylinders.
However the Mark 111's cylinder is blued, so i assume that oil wouldn't be a problem.
I have been told by Daystate to use Sewing machine oil, have had no problem.
