    Any scope experts?

    Question:
I have an ageing tasco 4-16x40 AO scope which came as a package on a gun I bought. Whe I first got it, the parallax ring turned a full two turns, and focussed from about 2 1/2 yds to inf at 16 mag. Then it seized up all of a sudden. I managed to partially free it, but only the front end of the parrallaxing ring turns (the ring with yardages on stays in the same place) , and it will only close focus to 20yds. However it reaches infinity well before the end of it's travel ( and only moves less than one turn now). It's a shame to bin it, because it's as sharp as anything I've ever seen (and that includes Bushnel, Burris, B&L etc). It would make a great HFT scope as at 10 mag I can get it to focus sharply from about 15 yds to inf. I'd like it work as was originally intended tho'. Any clues chaps?
