Thread: What are these charges rolled up in paper, are they the first cartridges produced?

    I thought that they were not classed as cartridges as there is no internal detonator, but I may be wrong

    Ahh that should create no end of red tape and misunderstandings then!!!

    Basically as said above they are not cartridges, just powder and ball stored in a paper case, rather than in the powder flask and ball pouch.

    You could assemble a thousand, and apart from being the equivalent of a weak and fragile uninteresting firework should one catch fire they wont go boom until shoved down the barrel and a cap applied to its backside

    What do I do with them throw them in the nearest pond?
    They must be at least a 100 years old or more.
