Magazine problem with a Winchester1892 357 mag underlever

The bullets when I try and load the magazine will not stay in the mag they jump into the bottom of the action. Does anyone know what the problem is please and how do I fix it
    Thanks Dorg

Mmmmm, not too sure on the Winchester but if its like a Marlin when the shell lifter is down it accepts one cartridge and as it rises the rest are blocked by the bottom lip of the lifter.

I have heard that there are 'issues' with the lifters on the Winchesters.

Have you tried some of the more specific gallery rifle forums?

Is this a new problem or is it the first time you've tried to load a Winchester??

What I'm getting at is whether it's a gun error or gun nut error.

Good thought DedI, are you loading with the lever shut and has it worked in the past?

There's a small catch on the top of the lower plate that falls away on a winchester, it stops the cartridges coming out of the tube when the lever is open.
It's part of the steel, so hard to break, but could be worn I guess?

This is the 1892 action, it is nothing like the Marlin 1894.

If the action is the same as the Rossi 1892, I know exactly what the problem is, and it is NOT the carrier (lifter).
