New in Northamptonshire
Hi, I'm a Newbie (think that's what you call them?) to this website.
Live in Northampton, just wanted to say hello to everybody and I hope I can get some advice off you guys if you don't mind?
Years ago, I owned a HW97K with a fancy scope but divorce meant it went (don't ask) and now I have just purchased a Browning 800 MAG .22 Pistol.
I want to do targets in my garden and join the local club at Sywell but I really want a rifle again, looking at a HW99s with scope.
I am interested in hunting rabbits and pigeons etc. on local farmers land, what is the best way to gain permission to go on their land? I am going to join the BASC and all that but want to hunt locally, weekday mornings would be ideal.
For your information, I am 41 years old, was a volunteer for Thames Valley Police and did one of their Firearms courses, have shot .303, lots of clays in the past too.
Anyway, advice would be appreciated on the permission to hunt part and look forward to chatting. Thank you!

Hello and welcome
Standard mickey mouse answer is visit your local club, get to see what combo's people are using and with bribes of tea and biccies perhaps have a go with theirs
You could get a million reccomendations for a general question like 'which springer for £200?' or '£400 budget for a pcp' you get the idea, theres no substitute for shouldering a rifle and getting the fit and feel of it, my rifle may not suit you one bit!
As for getting a permission , some folks drop lucky and some spend years knocking on doors, again club members may give some pointers but expect folks to be wary of sharing info, nothing personal but it may have taken them years to get their foot in the door , anyway more info on this site than you can shake a stick at so have a browse and get posting
atvb jay.
Don’t you find it Funny that after Monday(M) and Tuesday(T), the rest of the week says WTF?
