In the late 70s and early 80s sabot rounds were in the news alot as the Cold War got close to getting hot, I think they were one way of properly perforating the Soviet armoured columns which were almost continuously 'poised' to spread the icky red yolk of Kommunism over the free lands of the West. Here in the Shire, the hobbits in Coventry were going to adapt the fatcannon of the Chieftain tank to sabot-projectiles which could travel at 96,000 miles per hour which meant that a single round could destroy up to 100 Soviet tanks if they were in the predicted tank-jam formation.

But the Government thought it was cheaper to lease out airfields to the USAF so that A10s could fly east and mash up the T-bridages from the air with their Vulcan cannon. Luckily, Lord Sauron was brought low by Lech Walenzca and Rupert Murdoch and had to become a oil billionaire and porn producer as well as invading South Georgia, which is far away and not even part of MIddle Britain.

The sabot air-rifle pellet was a tribute to the tank buster round that never was, in the same way that the Jackal air-rifle made you want to join up and get your own SLR - like in this song

And mixing them both with 10-year-old Malt is contra-contra-indictated.
