    V-mached HW95 177 owners

Ive just fitted a V-Mach kit to my 177 HW95 and im wondering what happens to the power from when fitted to when fully bedded in, does it go up or down and by how much?

    thanks

Steves kits are very well made so they don't have that much scope for bedding in, on my HW98 I set it at 11.3ft/lbs and after a tin of pellets it was producing 11.4ft/lbs with JSB 8.4!

I recently did my own lazerglide conversion to the piston and this eeked the output up to 11.8ft/lb with the Falcon accuracy I now use, so I had to remove two shims to get it back to my prefered 11.3ft/lbs.

the beauty of the V-Mach kit is they last ages, my HW98 had it's kit fitted for approx two years before the piston modification, and despite a few thousand shots the spring was still as straight as when it arrived and still capable of producing full power!

I have known them go up by a good 0.5 f.p.e. after a couple of tins of pellets mate.

    hw95

Hi,i put a V-Mach kit in my HW95 .177 and put 4 preload/friction washers (supplied with kit) in front of the tophat to get power at 11.4 ft/lbs to start.A month ago after around 500-700 shots i chrono`d it again and power was in the unlucky number region .Stripped the rifle again and took 3 of the washer`s out and its back at a consistent 11.4 ft/lbs and so far no sign`s of any increase .

it all depends if you sized your piston head, but i would say a 95 should rise in power by 0.7 ft lbs over 2wk/700 shoot period .my hw80 [OVERSIZED COMPRESION TUBE] went from 10.7 ft lbs - 12.2 ft lbs hope this helps

    Put a kit in a HW77(0.177).
Started off at 11.4fpe. A few hundred shots later (over a 4 week period) 12.3fpe.
Made the necessary adjustments. No variation since.
Best check it regularly just to make sure.
I've been told 0.22's are more prone to increases in power than 0.177's.
I'm sure someone on here will know if that's true.
Judging by the posts above if it remains at the original setting your doing well but be prepared for an increase.

thanks for the responce, without any of the preload washers supplied mine is currently doing 10.2ftlb with RWS Superdomes which i intend to use but it was doing 11ftlb with Daystate select so Superdomes are well down on power compared to Selects, but i think ill leave it how it is for a fiew tins of pellets and see how the power goes

I put one of the washers in and fired a fiew hundred shots, it started at 11.2ftlb and by the time id finished shooting it had gone up to 11.8ftlb so i think ill take it back out again, the spring guide is quite a tight fit and they come coated in a thick tar like white grease which is much thicker than the standard black moly grease so im sure this will be slowing the spring down quite a bit and im thinking as the grease migrates from the spring and guide the power will just continue to go up as it thinns out, do you think its a good idea to remove the white grease completely and just use standard moly grease which is much less resistant so in theory it should be shooting on song streight away

i would have keept the rifle shooting at 10.2 ftlbs [no washers] that way if it would have creept up by 0.7 ftlbs it will be right on the 11ftlbs . then start thinking of adding washers ? , keep the white grease on the conponants as its good stuff and does not break down or fling off . iv found its best to rebuild the rifle and keep shooting for two weeks to let it settle down DONT STRIP, CHRONO, ADJUST, CHRONO, ADJUST, CHRONO, ADJUST you dont get a true reading i truely believe the rifle has to settle down over two weeks
