As final decisions for the new method of badge allocation were only made as we were starting today’s competition, here is the detail. To remind you, the previous years’ approach used a system based on the top 5 and ties, then next 5 and ties, etc., and awarded independently within the different classes. For 2011 we are trying out the UKAHFT idea where all badges are based on your gun score in relation to the overall high score for the day.

Here’s a table to show you what you need to score – relative to the top score:

    Class Gold Silver Bronze
    Open +4, +7, +12
    .22/Recoiling/Junior +7, +12, +18
    Primary +12, +18, +24

A Platinum badge will be awarded to any competitor winning 5 Gold badges during the series.

This change to the Badge scheme has NO impact on the way in which we calculate the outcome of the overall SIHFT series Individual Trophies (still based on your best 6 %age scores) and for the Team result (top 5 gun scores in each round, allowing a 4 point handicap for our Under 13 Primary class, over all ten rounds of the series).

Hope this is clear , and that you appreciate we are testing this change to make sure it works.

If you spot any errors - names spelt wrong, or whatever - please remember it wasnt my fault, but do let me know.

As above, leaving out the Buxted bit....

I see John Turnbull has found his little niche....the BUM class!

Really good fun, found it quite difficult to be honest??
I would also like to make it public that a certain Buxted member threatened me...i would have scored more but Fluck and Cant.....scared me into missing!...

Nice cool beer afterwards, good company, great weather!
    Bring on Swallows!

    Thanks all,

We're glad that everyone seemed to enjoy the course, as you could tell some were thought about to give your brains a bit of a work out & the field, well, that wind is out of our control
Roll on Swallows & fingers crossed for more of the same, course & weather wise !!

When we put the scores in I read out name, club, class and score, Mr Biggles types them in - I suspect class O(pen) and club B(uxted) were transposed. If that's the only mistake then Biggs moves from super hero class to ultra hero

Particularly as I seem to have had the wrong teeth in - or was it the chili sauce...

Oh, I think the chilli sauce is responsible for lots of stuff. You can probably tell via the scores who can cope with numb lips & a molten hot tongue, those who can't cope and those who dare not risk a potentially performance enhancing/inhibiting sauce.

Will La salsa de chiles picantes de Infierno be the running subject of this series? Will the Swallows shoot be soggy or drier than a martini? Will Spongie end up in therapy?

Stay tuned, Bat fans, same Bat time, same Bat BBS.

I "tried" it, which I thought was testament to Brian's subtle persuasion as I have a bottle of it in the cupboard, filed under "nuclear - do not touch, unless incredibly drunk, and then it's still a bad idea".
