I shoot 15gns by weight in my ROA and I have been to 18gns (full load to base of lead ball). 15gns seems as accurate as 18 and you use a bit less 777 each time.
Well i managed to pick up a Ruger Old Army (SS) within about 3 days of my licence coming back to me from variation and now i have finally got bored of polishing it i guess i need to perhaps load and fire it.
I'm intending to use 777 and lead ball, i've had a scan around the net and there seems to be various suggestions (this I'm guessing is down to some people weighting the powder and others measuring by volume)
I am intending to weigh out the load at home and store in plastic vials. having tried to work out the load i was thinking of around 16.5gr (by weight) would this be a realistic starting point or am i wildly out (under or over)
Cheers
Simon.
If I knew then what I know now I wouldn’t have been bottle feed
