Thanks for getting the results out so quick Greg,
Like you said hot sticky and also I thought, a well set but strategically difficult course,
As you well know I am more than a little deaf,
Well speak up then
Jesting apart!
For the five years that I have been a born again air rifle shooter I have always been instructed having fired my rifle that the bolt be opened not cocked to show rifle clear,
and on occasion have been reminded of my error when leaving the firing point with my bolt closed,
Today I was instructed to leave the firing point with my bolt closed??
Which for me would indicate that the rifle had been fired or not?
This to me is unsafe, as it is obviously unclear wether the rifle has been discharged or not,
For a multishot rifle I am told that the Mag is to be removed the bolt closed and the rifle discharged,
For a thirty shot course this would require sixty air charges being fired, effectively restricting the use of multishot rifles,
the magazine removed and the bolt opened can only indicate safe,
Whilst having a rant I am also against the practise of having the air rifle pointed down when carried as a richochet can blind or kill,
An air gun shooter properly instructed will ensure that his her rifle will remain in the vertical plane even when slung over the shoulder as the sling should be shifted upwards as the bearer stoops or leans forwards,
Rant over,
Please elucidate me in open forum as I am getting confused messages,
A simple bolt open or closed will suffice,
Apart from that,
Great Day At Kibby.
